Kay loves beads – their color and texture – the endless combinations. For almost ten years she has been inspired by the unlimited varieties of beads she uses to create pieces of wearable art. She incorporates semiprecious stones, sterling silver, copper, Swarovski crystals, pearls, glass and other organics and textiles into her work. Most of her pieces are freeform and it’s exciting how the beads come together as she works with them to create jewelry, art dolls and small sculptures. Though some of her pieces are very intricate, she finds the challenge of creating each unique piece very rewarding and therapeutic.
